Bilateral agreements

As of today Switzerland has seven different bilateral agreements in force that regulate and facilitate cooperation in the development and utilization of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, with Australia, the People's Republic of China, the French Republic, Canada, the Russian Federation, the Kingdom of Sweden and the United States of America.  These require certain activities, such as accounting, reporting, and notifications, similar to those implemented in the fields of safeguards and export control. These tasks are also performed by the Safeguards Section.
