Heat and cooling demand from residential and commercial buildings

Thermal networks provide a connection between areas generating a large surplus or heat or cold and those with a need for heat or cold.

The geodata on heat demand in residential and services buildings shows the areas with demand for heat or cold. The demand for heat in residential and services buildings is of greatest interest in thermal networks, as most buildings in these categories can be supplied with low temperatures of between 12 and 90 °C maximum.

The data is provided by the Verband Fernwärme Schweiz (VFS) and is based on information from the Federal Register of Buildings and Dwellings. The information is provided for the general public and is not official or legally binding.
