The revised CO2 Act now provides for the promotion of installations using solar thermal energy for industrial heating (Art. 34a). This instrument is financed by allocating the revenue from the CO2 tax. Incentives are provided for installations with a nominal thermal power of at least 20 kW (for the calculation of the nominal thermal power of the collectors, see www.kollektorliste.ch), which use the heat mainly for processes or services. The subsidy is granted in the form of a one-off investment contribution, which consists of a basic contribution of 2400 francs and a power-related contribution of 1000 francs per kW of nominal thermal power of the collectors. In order to avoid double incentives, emission reductions achieved with a subsidised installation cannot be taken into account in any reduction commitments.

This instrument is governed by Articles 113g to 113k of the CO2 Ordinance.

The subsidy application must be submitted to the SFOE. If you have any questions about the subsidy process, please contact: solind@bfe.admin.ch
