In the course of the past decade, SwissEnergy focused on eight priority areas. Its programme strategy for the period from 2021 to 2030 focuses on three priority fields of action:
- Energy efficiency in buildings and use of renewable energy in private households
- Mobility in the private households and business sectors
- Systems and processes in the industry and services sectors
These three areas account for 74 percent of end energy consumption in Switzerland. In view of this, at least three-quarters of the overall budget of SwissEnergy will be used for implementing measures in the three above-mentioned priority fields of action, which are to be supported by other fields of action and interdisciplinary topics. These include networks and storage, training and further education, urban centres and municipalities, communication, cooperation with the climate programme of the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and digitalisation.
