The SFOE is the supervisory authority responsible for gas and oil pipelines in Switzerland.
The operators of the pipeline systems document their pipeline systems in the form of geodata and provide these to the SFOE. The SFOE compiles an overview and makes it available to the public.
A protected area can restrict landowners. For this reason, protected areas are part of the cadastre of public-law restrictions on landownership (PLR-cadastre).
