As a basis for estimating the solar potential of hydropower plants and reservoirs (Postulat 20.4561), the solar radiation on reservoirs and dam walls was calculated in monthly resolution. For the dam walls, the irradiation was calculated on a surface parallel to the dam wall (both on the lake side and on the outer side), while for the reservoirs, the irradiation was calculated on a horizontal surface and on a surface inclined at 45° to the south. The grid point spacing is 25 m for the lakes and 2 m for the dam walls.
