Switzerland has adopted an EU regulation on welding equipment, which entered into force on January 1st 2021. As a result of these minimum requirements, welding equipment will consume less power in the future. In addition, manufacturers will provide better information, for example regarding the consumption of welding wire and shielding gas. There is also progress in terms of lifecycle: It will be easier to repair welding equipment and to dispose of or recycle the individual components.
