Fully documenting underground cable systems in layout plans prevents cables from being damaged and thus causing interruptions to the power supply. The Federal Electricity Supply Lines Ordinance therefore requires the operators (owners, leaseholders, etc.) to fully document the location and method of installation of their cable systems and to place the documentation at the disposal of authorised persons upon request.
The minimal data model, “Layout plans for electric cable systems”, was developed by the SFOE together with the involved operators, cantons and industry associations.
