Compensation of losses in hydropower use

If a municipality located in a nature and landscape conservation area of national interest decides to waive the use of hydropower, it may apply to the federal government for partial compensation. For this purpose the Federal Council enacted the Federal Ordinance on the Compensation of Losses in Hydropower Use. Compensation is based on contractually agreed protection objectives and is paid out annually. The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) carries out periodical success controls.

The minimal geodata model specifies the structure of the data relating to the protected area in accordance with the cited Ordinance. The minimal geodata model is explained in detail in the documentation. The INTERLIS 2.3 data model and geodata are available for downloading.
