The 2030 Agenda

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all 193 UN member states in 2015. By adopting the 2030 Agenda, all states declared their willingness to join forces to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Switzerland is also required to implement the Goals on a national basis.

Switzerland's energy policy can contribute in particular to the following objectives:

Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
