Electrical appliances

Electrical appliances are omnipresent in our modern-day society. Since their use - and the associated energy consumption - has constantly increased in the past few years, the efficiency of these appliances is of the utmost importance.

The first efficiency requirements for electrical appliances (refrigerators) were introduced in Switzerland in 2002, together with an energy label for the most important household appliances and for electric lamps. Since 2010, the various efficiency regulations have been constantly adapted to technological developments. Today a general efficiency requirement applies for all electrical appliances concerning consumption in standby and off modes. and in addition, there are now comprehensive provisions governing the electricity consumption of various household appliances, commercial and electronic devices, electric drives and electric lighting.
