ENSI is the national regulatory and supervisory authority. It provides technical support and assesses experts' reports on preparatory activities relating to the storage of radioactive waste in deep geological repositories. For example, it formulates guidelines for specifying the requirements on deep geological repositories, and evaluates applications submitted by the National Co-operative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste (Nagra).
