The aim of ProKilowatt is to reduce electricity consumption in the industry, trade and services sectors, as well as in private households, by financially supporting efficiency measures that can be implemented within the scope of projects and programmes. It supports those projects and programmes that meet the specified requirements and save as much electricity as possible per provided Swiss franc.
The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) is responsible for the strategic management of ProKilowatt, while its operational implementation is the responsibility of CimArk SA in Sion.
The source of financing of ProKilowatt is a surcharge on the electricity network. Up to 50 million Swiss francs a year are available for competitive calls for tenders.
Important information for applicants
Efficiency measures can be supported as projects or programmes within the scope of ProKilowatt:
- In the case of project support, the funding is provided directly to companies which then internally implement one or more supported measures. For projects, calls for tenders are issued twice a year.
- In the case of ProKilowatt programmes, the measures are supported via "sponsors" who implement numerous specific measures of the same type within third party organisations (primarily companies). For programmes, calls for tenders take place once a year.
Save-the-date: On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, a workshop for program sponsors will take place at the Federal Office of Energy in Ittigen. The workshop is free and open to anyone interested.
