The Process Engineering research programme supports research and development, as well as implementation measures within the industry sector, in close co-operation with various federal, cantonal and municipal authorities. The general objectives are defined every four years in the federal government energy research concept by the Swiss Federal Energy Research Commission (CORE) in collaboration with the SFOE. The current objectives are as follows:

  • Process optimisation / process integration
  • Improvement of complex production processes
  • More efficient drying and separation processes
  • Sustainable management of energy and resources

In addition to research and development activities, the use of know-how in pilot and demonstration projects is supported, as well as 1:1 realisation in real processes, in order to promote the achievement of goals relating to energy efficiency.
