The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) is able to support energy-related research, pilot and demonstration projects if they correspond to the priorities of the individual programmes and suitable co-ordination is possible with other ongoing or planned projects.

The main focus here is on applied and development-related research, pilot applications of new technologies, and demonstration projects. With pilot and demonstration projects, contributions may also be made towards non-amortisable supplementary costs. Applications for support for pilot and demonstration projects should be made before any other actions (initiation of project, request for necessary permits, etc.) are taken.

Applicants should initially submit a brief description of the project concerned (using the 2-page form provided). Funding applications for research or pilot and demonstration projects should only be prepared in greater detail after consultation with the programme head.

Wherever possible, applications should be submitted in electronic form to the programme head (Stephan Renz), who will then co-ordinate everything with the SFOE and/or other relevant offices.
