The High-temperature solar energy research programme maintains contacts with a variety of international players and research programmes. At the international level, interactions are organised as follows in line with the main areas of research:
In the field of solar thermochemistry, international research is coordinated by the SolarPACES Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Operating Agent Task II – Solar Chemistry Research: Dr. A. Meier; the International Partnership for the Hydrogen Economy, IPHE (project: Solar Driven High Temperature Thermochemical Production of Hydrogen), and SOLLAB Alliance of European Laboratories on solar thermal concentrating systems (involving five leading European research laboratories).
In the area of high-temperature solar heat in industrial processes, research is primarily coordinated by the SolarPACES Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Task IV "SHIP – Solar Heat for Industrial Processes".
Finally, with regard to solar thermal power plants, the reference research programme at the international level is Task I of the Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency (IEA) SolarPACES "Solar Thermal Electric Systems".
