The Energy in Buildings research programme works closely together with other research institutions for the purpose of exchanging findings and practical experience. Establishing a lively network and constantly expanding it are among the declared objectives of the programme.
The research projects supported by the SFOE are implemented by with th participation of colleges of technology, the Swiss federal institutes of technology, universities and industry players. Architecture and engineering offices are almost always involved, while industry associations and agencies often also participate.
The programme is also successfully co-operating with the two workgroups focusing on research into vacuum insulation panels and comfort ventilation (energie-cluster).
The SFOE Electricity research programme includes projects involving other programmes. In the Solar Heat and Energy Policy Fundamentals programmes, overlaps with other programmes are discussed from case to case. Other joint projects are being co-ordinated with Novatlantis (sustainability at the Federal Institutes of Technology). This means that close contacts can be maintained with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, in the area of sustainability.
The programme is also involved in joint projects in the area of sustainable construction together with the "Ecobau" and "Minergie" associations and the Office of Civil Engineering of the City of Zurich.
It maintains intensive contacts with the national brenet network (Building and Renewable Energies Network of Technology).
It is also involved in long-term projects of the Competence Centre for Energy and Mobility (CCEM) initiated by the Swiss federal institutes of technology.
