Generally speaking, the handling and use of electricity are based on technologies developed by engineering specialists. These technologies are very broad in scope. The programme focuses on high temperature superconductivity, energy (especially thermoelectric) conversion, kinetic and pneumatic storage (flywheel and compressed air), and interactive technologies (e.g. high-performance electronics). In addition, special technologies are united under the heading of "miscellaneous technologies".
