Wood-based biomass
These projects focus on timber obtained from forests, woodlands, hedges, fruit trees, waste wood and solid waste from trade, industry and households, as source material.
For the use of wood as an energy source, combustion remains the most important technology, and is also the only one with tried and tested systems and widespread distribution. Combustion systems range from manually fed stoves through to central heating systems, while automatic systems are available for room heating, central heating and district heating systems in the high megawatt range.
