Objectives / concepts
- The specific energy (Wh/kg) of accumulators is to be increased from the maximum level achieved to date (200 kWh/kg) to 2,000 kWh/kg.
- Future storage systems are to achieve an electrochemical efficiency of at least 80 to 90 percent thanks to lower internal resistance levels and optimised storage structures.
- New accumulators are to achieve a recharging life of at least 2,000 cycles and a service life of at least 7 years.
- New accumulators should not contain toxic substances.
